Within the framework of the project “Establishment of Training centre infrastructure and model prison block for training opportunities in the Olaine prison territory”, co-financed by Norwegian Grants, a visit of mentors – Latvian Prison Administration representatives – was organized in Norway on 12-15 September 2023.
The Latvian delegation:
- visited Romerike Prison and met Prison mentors
- viewed prison units: closed and partly-closed prison and open prison regime units, administrative building, meeting rooms, school, classrooms
- met for a conversation with students from Norwegian Training centre
- appreciated Romerike Prison’s woodworking and metalworking production as well as greenhouse and kennel.
The main purpose of the visit was to meet the Norwegian mentors, get to know their experience and daily work updates.
The delegation visit was organized within the framework of Latvian Prison Administration and the European Social Fund project No.9.1.3.0/16/I/001 “Raising the Efficiency of Resocialisation System” and the Norwegian Grants programme “Correctional Services”.
