Within the framework of the Norway Grants 2014-2021 period programme "Correctional Services", from 5 to 7 February there was organised 16th meeting of the Cooperation Committee of the Norway Grants programme, where representatives discussed the progress of the "Correctional Services" programme and the pre-defined project "Establishment of Training centre infrastructure and model prison block for training opportunities in the Olaine prison territory", as well as the future cooperation opportunities. Representatives of the Norwegian Embassy in Latvia also took a part in the meeting.
The delegation attending the Cooperation Committee consisted of representatives of the Project Promoter – Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Latvia, Project Developer – EEA and Norway Grants Latvia, Project Implementer – Latvian Prison Administration and Project Cooperation Partners – Norwegian Correctional Service Directorate (KDI), Norwegian Correctional Service University College (KRUS), Romerike Prison and Oslo Red Cross (Network After Imprisonment).
As part of the meeting, the delegation visited the new Training Centre construction site in Olaine prison territory, Jelgava prison and Riga Central prison.
